Which clubs to contact around Buenos Aires

Hurlingham Club's cricket page gives you a place to start: Av. Roca 1411, Hurlingham 1686; phone +54 11 4662-5510. Ask if the cricket programme is running, which playing levels can join, and whether visitors need a member’s invitation. It’s a private club, so confirm entry before you turn up.

Belgrano Athletic's cricket section traces the sport to its founding assembly. Hurlingham names Belgrano Athletic alongside itself in the northern side of its North–South competition, with San Albano and Lomas Athletic on the southern side. Search those names in the association directory, then ask about current teams, fixtures, and training grounds.

Check the ground before setting off for Lomas Athletic. Its history says cricket stopped at Arenales in 2002. Ask Lomas where it trains now before travelling to Arenales looking for a match. For any club, confirm the playing venue; a mailing address won’t tell you where the next ball is bowled.

How to join a game or watch one

2. Contact its cricket section and say whether you want to play or spectate. Ask about the next practice or match, the ground, equipment, membership and permission to attend; the club decides its own arrangements.
3. Get the fixture and address from the club before you travel. For a match, ask whether visitors can watch from the ground; for a first session, ask what kit to bring.

How cricket took root in Argentina

Hurlingham dates its first cricket match to 6 January 1890. Its North–South contest began in 1891; that club's account names Hurlingham and Belgrano Athletic on one side, San Albano and Lomas Athletic on the other. Belgrano Athletic says cricket was included at its 17 August 1896 founding assembly and later took part in Argentine Cricket Association tournaments.
